The current champion Team India is considered a contender to win the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time. Due to the tournament being held in India, Team India's claim is stronger. But the way Team India, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, has started has raised some concerns. In the match against America, Team India's top and middle order were defeated and in the very next match, the middle and lower middle-order disappointed them. After a good start in the second match against Namibia, Team India was in bad shape and half the team was out in the last two overs.

The Indian team took the field for its second match of the group stage on Thursday 12 February at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the last match, USA had lost the first 6 wickets of the Indian team for just 77 runs. This time the story was different and the opening pair of Ishan Kishan-Sanju Samson made an explosive start for the team. The Indian team had scored 120 runs in 10 overs, when captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma were out in two consecutive overs. But even after this, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey took the team beyond 200 runs.

This is where Team India's innings faltered. On the very first ball of the 19th over, Hardik hit a six off Gerhard Erasmus and took the team beyond 200 runs. But after this, Team India lost 5 wickets in the next 11 balls, while its batsmen could add only 4 runs to the scorecard. After that six, Hardik was caught on the second ball of the over, while Shivam Dubey was run out on the third ball. Rinku took one run on the fifth ball but Akshar Patel was bowled on the sixth ball.

Now all eyes were on Rinku in the last over but he could not score any runs on the first two balls.
