While Rahul completed the 25th century of his first class career, Padikkal also scored his first century as Ranji captain.

KL Rahul's bat is continuously scoring runs in Ranji Trophy. In the quarter-finals, KL Rahul played a brilliant century in the second innings against Mumbai to help Karnataka win. Mumbai had given Karnataka a target of 325 runs but KL Rahul led his team to victory by scoring 130 runs in 182 balls. Apart from him, Ravichandran Smaran had played an unbeaten inning of 83 runs. KL Rahul had also scored a half-century against Punjab. Meaning, this player has been successful in scoring fifty plus scores in all three matches of Ranji Trophy.
