West Indies vs Zimbabwe, T20 World Cup 2026: The fourth match of the group stage of T20 World Cup 2026 was played between the teams of West Indies and Zimbabwe at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, West Indies team won by a huge margin of 107 runs.
This match was very special for the cricket fans, a lot of fours and sixes were seen in this match and both the teams together created a new history. The West Indies-Zimbabwe match witnessed a feat which had never happened before in this tournament.This match played between West Indies and Zimbabwe has been recorded in the pages of history. A total of 31 sixes were hit in this match, which is a new world record for the highest number of sixes in any match of the T20 World Cup. With this, both the teams were successful in breaking the 12 year old record.
Earlier in 2014, 30 sixes were hit in the match played between Ireland and Netherlands. This means that this is the first time that more than 30 sixes have been hit in a T20 World Cup match.In this match, West Indies won the toss, chose to bat and played a explosive innings. They scored 254 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs, which is the highest score in this World Cup and the second highest team score in T20 World Cup history. West Indies batsmen also equaled the record of most sixes in an innings in the T20 World Cup with a total of 19 sixes.
In reply, Zimbabwe team was all out for 147 runs in 17.4 overs while chasing the target of 255 runs. Brad Evans played a fighting innings, scoring 43 runs in 21 balls, in which he hit 5 sixes. Due to which the Zimbabwe team was successful in hitting a total of 12 sixes in the innings. That means a total of 31 sixes were hit in the match and a new world record was created. At the same time, with this victory, West Indies have made a big claim for the semi-finals, which have won 5 consecutive matches in this tournament. Now he will face strong teams like South Africa and India.
