Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians by 18!runs to register their ninth win in the Indian Premier League 2024. KKR are the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the 17th season. Chasing 158 runs to win, Mumbai were restricted to 139/8 runs in 16 overs.
Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell bowled well for the hosts. Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Eden Gardens.
Venkatesh Iyer (42), Nitish Rana (33), Andre Russell (24) and Rinku Singh (20) batted well for the Knight Riders. Jasprit Bumrah and Piyush Chawla took two wickets each, respectively.
