T20 World Cup 2026 Prize Money: In a thrilling final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Indian cricket team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand. With this the Indian team became the first team to win this tournament three times.

At the same time, Team India also achieved the feat of winning the T20 World Cup at home, which no one could do before. After this historic performance, Team India also received record-breaking prize money from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Money showered on Team India

The International Cricket Council (ICC) kept the prize money pool for this tournament at around Rs 120 crore, out of which the champion team got the largest share. The Indian team won the prize money of US $ 3 million (approximately Rs 27.48 crore). This prize money is much more than the previous editions, last time the Indian team got 2340000 US dollars for becoming the champion.

On the other hand, despite losing the final, the New Zealand team also became rich. New Zealand received 1.6 million dollars (about Rs 14.65 crore) as runner-up. South Africa and England, the losing teams in the semi-finals, were given $790,000 (approximately Rs 7.24 crore). Apart from these, every team that could not reach the Super 8 stage and make it to the semi-finals got a prize of $ 380,000 (about Rs 3.48 crore). All the teams participating in the group stage also received a guaranteed prize of $250,000 (approximately Rs 2.29 crore).

The final match was one-sided

In the final match, India batted first and performed brilliantly. Sanju Samson played a stormy inning of 89 runs in 46 balls, due to which the team scored 255 runs for 5 wickets. In reply, New Zealand team was reduced to 159 runs. During this, Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets for 15 runs. Whereas, Akshar Patel took 3 wickets in his name. With this, the Indian team also became the first team to defend the title of T20 World Cup.
