India recorded its biggest win margin in T20 World Cup after beating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.

Half-centuries from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan allowed India to post a massive 255. In response, New Zealand could only manage 159, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah’s four for 15 and Axar Patel’s three for 27.

The side’s previous best win margin came earlier in this World Cup when it beat Namibia by 93 runs during the group stage.

India’s biggest win in T20Is has also come against the Kiwis, at the same venue in 2023, when it won by 168 runs.
