T20 World Cup 2026: Samson's photo edited... Big controversy over Shubman Gill's post, what is the truth?

Shubman Gill Social Media Post Controversy: Team India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 was quite historic. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the entire country after winning the title for the third time. But there is also a controversy going on on social media, which is attracting everyone's attention.

This controversy is regarding the post of Indian Test and ODI team captain Shubman Gill. In fact, after the victory of the T20 World Cup, everyone congratulated him by sharing a post on social media, Gill was also included in it. But some users allege that Gill has edited and posted the photo and removed Sanju Samson.

Big uproar over Gill's social media post

The controversy started because Gill shared a celebration photo with the team's trophy on Instagram, in which Sanju Samson is not visible. Many fans compared it to Suryakumar Yadav's post, where Samson was seen behind and claimed that Gill had edited the photo to exclude Samson.

It is being alleged that Gill is jealous of Samson's success, because Samson performed brilliantly in the tournament and became the player of the tournament. At the same time, Gill could not make it to the World Cup team.

That day, after the match, many photos were clicked, which were from different angles and different moments. In the photo posted by Gill, the position of the players was slightly different, due to which Sanju Samson is not visible. Yashasvi Jaiswal also shared the same photo in his congratulatory post, in which Samson is not visible. Shivam Dubey and Ravichandran Ashwin also used similar photos. Suryakumar Yadav's photo was from a different time, where Samson was seen hiding behind Bumrah, but in Gill's photo, the arrangement of players on the podium and the position of the trophy are quite different.

Tournament was memorable for Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson proved to be the big match winner of Team India in this tournament. He scored 321 runs in just 5 matches. During this, he made the team champion by scoring three consecutive big scores (97*, 89, 89). Even though Sanju Samson did not get a chance to play in the beginning. But as soon as Samson got a chance in the middle of the tournament, he took full advantage of it.
