Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs for their sixth win in the Indian Premier League 2024.

The Faf du Plessis-led franchise is still in contention for the playoffs. Chasing 188 runs to win, Delhi felt the absence of their regular captain Rishabh Pant, who was suspended for one match due to three slow over rate offences.

RCB bowlers were spot on from the start as Delhi were restricted to 140 runs in 19.1 overs. Axar Patel, the stand-in skipper, scored 57 runs but the remaining batters failed to score big.

Yash Dayal was the most successful RCB bowler as he took three wickets.

Earlier, Bengaluru posted 187/9 after being invited to bat first. Rajat Patidar (52) and Will Jacks (41) led the batting charts. For Delhi, Rasikh Salam and Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets each, respectively.
