Sports Desk. Before the start of the 19th edition of IPL, BCCI has made a major change in the rules of this tournament. The changes made by BCCI at the last moment before the start of IPL 2026 have created a stir among the teams. BCCI issued strict instructions to all the 10 franchises that the teams will not be allowed to have practice sessions on their match days.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also issued guidelines regarding the presence of players’ families during the Indian Premier League. Players will be able to travel to the ground only by team bus. Families and friends are not allowed to enter the playing field during training sessions. Families may watch practice only from designated hospitality areas. It has been made mandatory to wear orange and purple caps during award distribution ceremonies as per instructions.
