American businessman Kal Somani and his consortium have made the biggest bid for the franchise, which has been accepted.The current owner of Rajasthan Royals, one of the initial 8 franchises of IPL, is Indian-origin British businessman Manoj Badale, who owns 65 percent of the franchise. Apart from them, 15 percent stake is in the name of American investment firm Redbird Capital and 13 percent stake is in the name of British industrialist Lachlan Murdoch. Apart from these, there are 7 percent other investors.
