Delhi: Before the bugle of IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders have given a big honor to their former star player Andre Russell. Actually, the franchise has forever retired the number 12 jersey, which Russell used to wear. Now no player in the KKR team will ever be able to wear the jersey with this number.

The Kolkata team gave this honor to Russell during a special event. After retiring the number 12 jersey, franchise CEO Venky Mysore got it framed and handed over the jersey number 12 to Russell.

During this, the powerful all-rounder Russell also appeared a little emotional.

Let us tell you that while being a part of KKR, Russell tasted winning the trophy twice (2021, 2024). This powerful all-rounder from West Indies was a part of the Kolkata team from IPL 2014 to IPL 2025. In his 140-match IPL career, Russell scored 2651 runs at an average of 28.20, which included 12 half-centuries.

In bowling, Russell took 123 wickets in his name.
