The minister said that if any broadcaster wants to show IPL, it can apply and the government will look at it positively. He also made it clear that the government will neither ban any channel nor force anyone. He said that if Star Sports or any local channel wants to broadcast IPL, they will get full freedom.
Will IPL be telecast live on Bangladesh?
In fact, earlier the interim government of Bangladesh had banned the telecast of IPL, which had created uncertainty among broadcasters and cable operators. But the new government has now retreated from that decision and adopted an open stance.
Government changed its stance on the previous ban decision
This decision was also supported by the Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh. Association official Rezaul Karim Labloo said that at present there is no such instruction to stop the live telecast of IPL. He made it clear that until a new order comes from the government, the operators will not block the signal of any channel.
Lablu also said that the instructions issued by the former interim government, which was led by Mohammad Yunus, are no longer in force.
In such a situation, telecast of IPL is completely possible.Controversy occurred due to Mustafizur Rahman
It is noteworthy that earlier the decision to ban live telecast of IPL was taken when BCCI had asked Kolkata Knight Riders to terminate the contract of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. After this the controversy escalated and IPL telecast was banned.
However, now after this decision of the new government, the way has been cleared for the telecast of the league in Bangladesh. This will increase enthusiasm among cricket fans and can also prove to be a big business opportunity for broadcasters.
