Thalangagama Police of Sri Lanka arrested Harshi Rasanga, after which he was produced in the Kaduwela Magistrate Court. During the hearing of the case in the court, Harshi Rasanga's lawyers admitted that the gold chain had been mortgaged without informing the cricketer.

A promise was also made by the actress that she would bring it and return it to Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
