Nitish Reddy Shines in SRH’s 65-Run Rout of KKR at Eden Gardens

An all-rounder performance from Nitish Reddy and a combined bowling performance from SRH has registered their first win in the IPL 2026 campaign.

They secured a massive 65-run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders to get their first points and jumped to 6th position in the IPL 2026 points table.

After invited to bat first, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings while Vaibhav Arora opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a solid start scoring 82 runs for the first wicket. Kartik Tyagi bagged the wicket of Head for 46 runs as SRH scored 84 runs in the powerplay.

Travis Head’s knock included 6 four and 3 sixes.

Blessing Muzarabani bagged the wickets of SRH captain Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma in a single over destroying the top order.

Aniket Verma who made a crucial knock against RCB, got dismissed for 1 run by Anukul Roy.

Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy forged a partnership, however the run flow has reduced with back to back dismissals.

On the other hand, Vaibhav Arora picked the wickets of Nitish Reddy and Salil Arora for 39 and 0 respectively.

In the meantime, Heinrich Klaasen smashed fifty and got dismissed for 52 runs. His knock included 4 fours and 1 six. With Salil Arora and Harsh Dubey at crease, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 226 runs in their 20 over innings.

Blessing Muzarabani bagged four wickets while Vaibhav Arora picked two wickets and karthi Tyagi and Anukul Roy completed with one wicket each.

Chasing a mammoth 227 run target, Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen opened the innings while David Payne opened the bowling attack.

Finn Allen made a destructive start scoreing 28 runs off 6 deliveries which included 4 fours and 2 sixes.

However, he got dismissed by Harsh Dubey in the second over.

While Rajane lost his wicket to Jaydev Unadkat for 8 runs, Cameron Green went back to dug out after a run out in the last ball of the powerplay. By the end of Powerplay, Kolkata scored 74 runs losing three wickets.

Rinku Singh joined Angkrish Raghuvanshi to stabilise the innings. With Raghuvanshi smashing 52 he got dismissed on a run out while Anukul Roy got dismissed by Nitish Reddy for duck.

With the dissmisal of Rinku Singh for 35 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders lost six wickets for 139 runs.

Ramandeep Singh and Sunil Narine added 10 and 12 runs, but was not enough to chase the 227 run target.

Jaydev Unadkat picked the wickets of Kartik Tyagi and Varun Chakravarthy in the 16th over to bundle out KKR for 161 runs.

Sunrisers Hdyerabad secured a massive 65 run victory where Jaydev Unadkat picked three wickets while Eshan Malinga and Nitish Reddy had two wickets tallies each.

Ramandeep Singh and Sunil Narine added 10 and 12 runs, but was not enough to chase the 227 run target.
