At the age of 18, he broke Suresh Raina’s big record by scoring a half-century in Chepauk. At the same time, he has also been included in the special list of players who have scored the most 50+ scores under the age of 19 in IPL.

In such a situation, 18 year old Ayush Mhatre, who came to bat at number 3, took the responsibility and played a brilliant innings with captain Rituraj Gaikwad by making a partnership of 96 in just 55 balls for the second wicket. He scored 72 runs in 43 balls, which included 6 fours and 5 sixes. His innings brought the team out of a difficult situation and into a strong position.

On the basis of this inning, Ayush Mhatre made a big record in his name. He has become the youngest batsman to score a half-century at the Chepauk Stadium. He achieved this feat at the age of 18 years and 261 days, whereas earlier this record was in the name of Suresh Raina, who had scored a fifty at the age of 21 years and 148 days.

Not only this, Ayush Mhatre has now become the joint second player to score the highest 50+ score under the age of 19 in IPL. In this matter, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is at number one, who has scored 50+ scores three times. Whereas Prithvi Shaw and Ayush Mhatre have achieved this feat twice each.
