RCB Crush CSK by 43 Runs After Mammoth 250 at Chinnaswamy

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went on to secure a stunning 43-run victory against the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2026 game played on April 05 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

By this win, RCB retained the top spot in the IPL 2026 points table with a better run rate.

After being invited to bat first, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt opened the innings while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a decent start, scoring 37 runs for the first wicket. Anshul Kamboj brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Virat Kohli for 28 runs.

Wit Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal at crease, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 51 runs in the powerplay.

Shivam Dube who introduced to bowling in the 11th over, dismissed Phil Salt for 46 runs. His knock  After Devdutt Padikkal’s dismissal for 50 runs off 29 deliveries by Jamie Overton, Rajat Patidar and Tim David captailised the innings. Padikkal’s knock included 5 fours and 2 sixes.

With Rajat Patidar remained unbeaten with 48* runs, Tim David scored 70* runs which included 3 fours and 8 sixes.

Patidar’s knock included 1 fours and 6 sixes.

By the end of 20 overs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 250 runs for 3 wickets. Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton and Shivam Dube picked a wicket each for CSK. Chennai Super Kings will need 251 runs to win in the match.

Chaing a mammoth 251 run target, Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings while Jacob Duffy opened the bowling attack.

With Jacob Duffy picked the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad for 7 runs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked the wicket of youngster Ayush Mhatre for 1 run.

With Sanju Samson’s dismissal for 9 runs, CSK lost three wickets for 30 runs.

Sarfaraz Khan who came to bat at No. 4, went on to smash 50 runs off 25 deliveries as CSK scored 77 runs in the powerplay.

Krunal Pandya who came to bowl, bagged the wickets of Sarfaraz Khan and Kartik Sharma in the 7th over.

Shivam Dube and Prashant Veer tried to capitalise the innings, before Shivam Dube lost his wicket to Abhinandan Singh.

However, Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton made a decent partnership helping the side to cross 150 run mark, where Prashant Veer scored 43 runs off 29 deliveries.

He got dismissed on Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s delivery while Jamie Overton added 37 runs before being dismissed by Suyash Sharma.

With Noor Ahmad went back to dug out scoring 8 runs, Matt Henry got dismissed for 2 runs. Losing all 10 wickets, Chennai Super Kings got bundled out for 207 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked three wickets while Jacob Duffy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya picked two wickets each.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play their next match against Rajasthan Royals on April 10 at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati.

With Noor Ahmad went back to dug out scoring 8 runs, Matt Henry got dismissed for 2 runs. Losing all 10 wickets, Chennai Super Kings got bundled out for 207 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked three wickets while Jacob Duffy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya picked two wickets each.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play their next match against Rajasthan Royals on April 10 at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati.
