The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will unveil the Ravi Shastri Stand at the Wankhede Stadium on April 9, and dedicate the stadium gates to cricket legends Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar and Diana Edulji. This honor will be given to those great players of Mumbai and Indian cricket who have made important contributions to the world of cricket.

Let us tell you, according to the release of MCA, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend this grand inauguration ceremony. Besides, MCA President Ajinkya Naik, Apex Council members and other members of the cricket world will also be present.

The decision was taken at the MCA Apex Council meeting held in February, in which a resolution was passed to name the Level 1 stand located below the press box at the Wankhede Stadium after former India captain and famous commentator Ravi Shastri.

Additionally, Gate No. 3, Gate No. 5 and Gate No. 6 of the Wankhede Stadium will be dedicated in the names of Dilip Sardesai, Diana Edulji and Eknath Solkar respectively. This step has been taken as a tribute to the great personalities of Indian cricket who gave a new direction to the cricket world with their dedication and contribution towards the game.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik said on the occasion, “This ceremony is a proud moment for Mumbai Cricket as we gather to honor these great personalities. We are celebrating their contributions and working towards inspiring the future generations.”
