Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a commanding 27-run win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 7. The contest was reduced to an 11-over-a-side affair due to rain.
After being put in to bat, RR posted a formidable 150/3 in their allotted overs, riding on a sensational knock from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who remained unbeaten on 77 off just 32 balls. He found strong support from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 39 off 14 deliveries, including five sixes, as the duo stitched a blistering 80-run opening stand in just 4.6 overs.
RR maintained the momentum through Riyan Parag, who chipped in with a quickfire 20, while Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten at the end. For MI, AM Ghazanfar was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets.
In response, MI never really got going in their chase of 151. Early strikes from Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma put them on the back foot, and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. A brief counter-attack from Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 8) and Naman Dhir (25 off 13) provided some hope, but the required rate proved too steep. MI eventually finished at 123/9 in 11 overs.
RR’s bowling unit delivered a clinical performance, with Nandre Burgerand Ravi Bishnoi picking up two wickets each, while Sandeep Sharma also chipped in with a couple.
Overall, it was a dominant all-round display from Rajasthan Royals, who outplayed Mumbai Indians in all departments to seal a convincing win.
