IPL 2026: Jaiswal’s inning of 77 runs in the rain, RR beats MI by 27 runs

In a thrilling match of rain-interrupted IPL 2026 in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 27 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s explosive inning of 77 not out took RR to a strong score of 150/3 in 11 overs. With this win, the team achieved its third consecutive win and took the top position in the points table, while MI slipped to the seventh position.

Due to rain, the match started at 10:10 pm, in which 11-11 overs were decided for both the teams. After losing the toss and coming to bat first, RR got off to a good start. Opening pair Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a partnership of 80 runs in 5 overs. Suryavanshi scored 39 runs in 14 balls with 5 sixes and 1 four.

Dhruv Jurel could score just 2 runs, and RR reached 84/2. Here captain Riyan Parag made a partnership of 37 runs with Jaiswal. Parag returned after scoring 20 runs in 10 balls. In the end, Jaiswal added 29 unbeaten runs with Shimron Hetmyer (6*). Jaiswal remained unbeaten in 32 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes.

Ghazanfar took 2/21 for MI. Chasing the target, MI were reduced to 123/9. Ryan Rickleton (8), Rohit Sharma (5), Suryakumar Yadav (6) were out early. After 46/5, Rutherford-Naman Dheer added 47 runs, both scored 25-25 runs, but could not win. RR’s Nandre Berger, Sandeep Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets each. This win makes RR a strong contender for the championship.
