Since Afghanistan got Test status in 2017, Rashid has played 12 matches, appearing in only six of them.

When asked about playing in the Test match against India after IPL, Rashid did not give a clear answer. “If something happens to my back, I can’t play 100 Test matches. Playing one Test match a year won’t keep me playing for a long time. So there are no personal goals in Test cricket,” he said.
