I strive to be like Dhoni, not KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, or Rishabh Pant. What else did this IPL player say?

Prabhasimran said, Impact sub rules are a golden opportunity for young players to shine

New Delhi. Punjab Kings’ aggressive batsman Prabhsimran Singh has fully supported the ‘Impact Sub’ rule and praised it for giving young players a ‘lifeline’ and a golden opportunity to shine in the IPL.

He said that he tries to keep wickets like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The ‘Impact Sub’ rule has been criticized by many cricket experts as being biased towards the batsmen and reducing the utility of all-rounders.

However, Prabhasimran said while talking to the media, I see this rule as an opportunity for young players. Many do not like this rule but if a batsman or bowler joins the team then more risky decisions can be taken.

But it is invaluable for young players, he said.

When I joined Punjab Kings, I stayed with them for eight years and out of those four years I did not get a chance to play much. Now because of the Impact Sub rule, youngsters are getting more opportunities to play.

India has promising wicketkeeper batsmen like KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan. When asked whether Prabhasimran tries to be like him or sticks to his own style, he said that he follows former India captain Dhoni.

He said, I don’t try to copy anyone. All of them are my seniors and everyone has their own style. I have seen Mahi Bhai’s wicketkeeping.

His hands move very fast. I try to be like Mahi Bhai in wicketkeeping.
