Mukul Chaudhary: At the age of 6, he saw that shot which made Mukesh a fan, he became a similar finisher

IPL has got its new young star. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already become a star but another new young star has emerged in IPL 2026. Name is Mukul Chaudhary. Although Mukul is not as old as Vaibhav but not much either. This young batsman of just 21 years has made his name on everyone's lips with just one match. This Lucknow Super Giants player made his mark in the same style of which he had become a fan in his childhood - helicopter shot, match finisher and MS Dhoni.

Lucknow Super Giants' defeat in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders seemed certain. In the last 4 overs, the team needed 52 runs to win, while only 3 wickets were left. One of them was right-handed batsman Mukul, in whose IPL career this was only the third match. Mukul came to the crease in the 13th over itself but he could score only 2 runs in the first 8 balls. But as soon as the first four came from his bat, no one could stop him.

Mukul managed to take the team to the required 54 runs in the last 4 overs, of which 52 runs came from his own bat. Mukul hit a total of 7 brilliant sixes in his innings but the first six was the most special. On the fourth ball of the 17th over, he hit a six using Dhoni's famous 'helicopter shot', which surprised everyone. But not just one shot, but Mukul played the entire innings in the style of his hero and ideal Dhoni and in his style, he died by 'finishing the match' for the team in the last over.

His dream of finishing the match like MS Dhoni in IPL was fulfilled at the age of 21 but he was dreaming of it since he was only 6 years old. Everyone was surprised when LSG spent Rs 2.60 crore on him in the IPL auction. After that, in an interview of ESPN-Cricinfo, Mukul had revealed that the six hit by Dhoni in the 2011 World Cup was special for him, since then Dhoni was his idol.

Born in 2004, Mukul was only 6 years old then. Talking about him, he had said, "I have always looked up to MS Dhoni sir. I am also a keeper and have been looking up to him only. I always remember the helicopter shot of the 2011 World Cup. He is my role model. He was also a finisher and I too want to be a finisher like him, want to finish the game." It is not easy to become Dhoni, but one can try to be like him and try to get closer to him. Mukesh did this the very first chance he got and then after making the team win, he also dedicated his innings to Dhoni.
