Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hits two IPL fifties in 15 balls, becomes second batter in the world to do it

15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was unstoppable for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluruin Guwahati. The fixture is being played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. The southpaw scored a fifty in just 15 balls. He reached the mark by smashing Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a maximum on the third delivery of the fifth over of the 202-run chase.

The 15-ball fifty is his second in 15 deliveries in the 19th season of the tournament. In RR’s match against the Chennai Super Kings,  Sooryavanshi posted 50 in 15 balls in Guwahati on March 30.

He is the second player to score two fifties in 15 or fewer balls. In IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals’ Jake Fraser-McGurk hit two half-centuries in 15 balls.

Sooryavanshi was dismissed by RCB spinner Krunal Pandya in the 9th over.

He scored 78 runs off 26 balls, laced with 8 fours and 7 sixes and added 108 runs in 37 balls for the second wicket with the wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel.
