Lucknow Super Giants batter Ayush Badoni has entered the franchise’s record books, becoming only the third player to reach 1,000 IPL runs. He achieved the milestone during their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Thursday in the IPL 2026.
Needing 25 runs before the start of the match to get to the landmark, the right-hander completed the feat in the 12th over of LSG’s chase of 182, marking a notable moment in his IPL career.
Badoni also became the second Indian batter to aggregate 1,000 runs for Lucknow Super Giants, with KL Rahul being the first to achieve the milestone for the franchise.
Overall, he has scored 1,029 runs in 59 matches for LSG at an average of 26.38.
Nicholas Pooran, the former West Indies batter, had already joined KL Rahul in the group last year, and Ayush Badoni has now become the latest entrant into the 1,000-run club for Lucknow Super Giants.
The young batter also played an important supporting role in the same game, crafting a fluent 54 off 34 balls, which included seven fours and two sixes, helping steady LSG’s chase with a composed effort.
Lucknow Super Giants scripted a memorable win at Eden Gardens on Thursday, overcoming three-time IPL winners KKR by three wickets in a last-ball finish. In pursuit of 182, LSG were powered by crucial half-centuries from Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary, sealing their second triumph of the IPL 2026 season.
