Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got injured while batting in the match.
According to reports, Virat Kohli is suffering from ankle injury, due to which he did not come to the ground for fielding after batting. He was seen sitting in the dressing room. Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in 38 balls. The way Virat suffered an ankle injury while batting. Just like when Rohit Sharma got hamstring injury while batting. Rohit appeared to be in pain while batting and ultimately decided to retire hurt.
When Rohit returned to the dugout after retiring hurt, he was playing after scoring 19 runs on 13 balls. The seriousness of his injury can be gauged from the fact that after retiring hurt, he did not even come out to bat again. In the match played at Wankhede Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore, batting first, made a record score of 240 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Bengaluru reached this score because its top-3 batsmen scored quick half-centuries. In reply, Mumbai Indians, chasing the target of 241 runs, could score only 222 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 18 runs.
