Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for a golden duck for the first time in his IPL career against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Suryavanshi was dismissed caught and bowled by Praful Hinge, who was making his IPL debut. The pacer went on to become the first bowler to pick three wickets in the opening over of an IPL contest.
Suryavanshi’s stunning knock of 78 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the previous encounter had taken him to the top of the Orange Cap standings. He had to reliquish the position to Heinrich Klaasen after the first innings of the onging contest.
Overall, across the previous two seasons, the southpaw has scored 452 runs in 12 innings at an average of 37.66 and a strike rate of 228.28 with three half centuries and one hundred.
