Royal Challengers Bengaluru approach their Indian Premier League 2026 showdown against Lucknow Super Giants with uncertainty looming over the availability of star batter Virat Kohli.
The star batter’s fitness has become a major discussion ahead of Wednesday’s clash at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The concerns date back to RCB’s previous game against Mumbai Indians, where Kohli experienced discomfort and did not take the field during the second innings.
It is later revealed that the right hander picked a minor ankle injury while batting, which raised doubts over his participation in the clash against LSG.
However, ahead of the LSG clash, Virat Kohli was seen at training sessions, although with visible strapping on his leg. In a video surface online, but also provided a positive sign that he is actively working towards recovery.
Virat Kohli was seen running lightly, which indicates that the injury may not be bad. Still, the management will likely be cautious with him leading into an already tight RCB’s 2026 schedule.
Despite no official confirmation from RCB regarding his availability, nor has the management publicly disclosed the level of injury.
