There cannot be a better definition of home domination than Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) remaining undefeated at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the ongoing IPL 2026 after their thumping five-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 23 on Wednesday, April 15. 

The thrilling encounter began with captain Rajat Patidar having no hesitation in bowling first. The move worked exactly how Patidar would have planned after winning the toss, as the visitors scored only 35 runs in the powerplay, the second-lowest powerplay score of the season. There was a fight by Mitchell Marsh (40 off 32), who got able support from Ayush Badoni, contributing 38 off 24 deliveries.

Mukul Choudhary also added 39 from his blade towards the end, as LSG were bundled out for only 146 in the 20th over, courtesy of some excellent bowling by the hosts. Josh Hazlewood took a wicket for 20 runs off his four. But the man who impressed the most was Rasikh Salam Dar, chipping in with four handy wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a tight spell of 3/27, while Krunal Pandya also took two scalps.

However, just as he was inching towards his fifty, an Avesh Khan delivery got the better of him for 49 off 34. But the damage had already been done, and Jitesh Sharma did the formalities alongside Tim David and Romario Shepherd. Patidar made 27 off 13, too.
