The Gujarat Titans return home after two games on the road as they host the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 25 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
GT's campaign has been set into motion as they picked up two wins from the two away games, against the Delhi Capitals and the Lucknow Super Giants. Their star batters Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler have finally found form, with the pair getting half-centuries in both games. The bowling attack has found balance with the resurgence of Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna carrying on his form from 2025.
The Knight Riders, on the other hand, are still winless in the five games they have played. The only point they have recorded in 2026 came from the washout against the Punjab Kings. They have been below par with both bat and ball and are yet to find team combinations which work for them. They have been dented massively by injuries to key bowlers, and the big-name overseas batters like Cameron Green and Finn Allen are yet to find form.
The hosts enter this contest as favourites due to their recent performances, but they were beaten by the Rajasthan Royals in the only game they have played at their home ground.
The visitors have been underwhelming in 2026 and will be in dire need to get their season off to a start. With the firepower in both teams, this is expected to be a blockbuster contest. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad: Pitch reportThe Narendra Modi Stadium is probably the most imposing ground in the IPL due to its size, capacity and features. The wicket traditionally plays in favour of teams that bat first. Fast bowlers get aid with lateral movement early in the innings. Variable bounce is a factor in both innings. Spinners get aid as the ball grips.
The dimensions of the ground are relatively larger than the grounds in India, but the outfield is significantly faster. IPL Stats and Records at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
