What happened when Rajat Patidar’s wedding got called off because of RCB? The hotel had already been booked. Everything was set. But then a phone call came from RCB management, and the wedding was stopped.

The story begins with IPL 2021. RCB bought Rajat for ₹20 lakh. But that season was a nightmare for him. Just 71 runs in four matches, after which RCB released him.

Then came the 2022 auction, but no team was ready to spend money on Rajat Patidar. 2022 had already started. Rajat was at home, and his family told him that now he should get married. All the bookings were done.

But then RCB player Luvnith Sisodia got injured, and to replace him, RCB reached out to Rajat Patidar. The wedding was postponed, and Rajat caught a flight to Bangalore.

Then comes 25 May 2022. In the playoffs, RCB vs Lucknow. In that match, Kohli failed, du Plessis failed, and even Maxwell failed. But then Rajat Patidar came in to bat.

He played a knock of 112 runs in just 54 balls. He became the first uncapped player to score a century in the playoffs. And in the same year, Rajat helped Madhya Pradesh win the Ranji Trophy.

But then another twist comes in the story. Before 2023, due to a heel injury, he missed the entire IPL season. But he kept going.

In IPL 2024, he made a comeback. Scored 395 runs, hit five half-centuries. Then in 2025, RCB retained Rajat for ₹11 crore. Along with that, they gave him the captaincy.

And Captain Patidar ended RCB’s 17-year wait. For the first time, RCB won the trophy. Virat Kohli came into the dressing room and gifted his bat to Rajat.

And now in IPL 2026, a completely new version of Rajat Patidar is being seen—playing extremely aggressive cricket.

Rajat knows that if he wants to make it into the Indian T20 side, this is his last chance.

But you tell in the comments—does Rajat deserve a place in the Indian T20 team or not?
