Gujarat Titans are truly back in the IPL 2026, and one of the reasons is Shubman Gill’s form with the bat. GT defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets to secure their third win in the ongoing 19th season. Gujarat are in fourth position in the points table. Gill scored 86 runs off 50 balls, laced with 8 fours and 4 sixes as the one-time champions reached the target in 19.4 overs.
On the other hand, KKR are still winless after 6 games and their only point came courtesy of a wash out against the Punjab Kings. The Titans begin their campaign with back-to-back defeats, but the franchise bounced back spectacularly.
Apart from Gill, Sai Sudharsan (22 off 16) and Jos Buttler (25 off 15) also contributed with the bat in the GT vs KKR match.
Rahul Tewatia (7 off 6) and Shahrukh Khan (3 off 2) were unbeaten in the end.
Earlier, KKR suffered another batting collapse, and it was Cameron Green’s 79-run knock that took the score to 180 all out in 20 overs. The Aussie opener, who was below par in the previous contests, faced 55 balls to hit 7 fours and 4 sixes.
Rovman Powell (27 off 22) and Ramandeep Singh (17 off 8) were the only two willow holders who touched the double-digit mark.
Tim Seifert, who replaced Finn Allen, managed just 19 runs off 14 balls. Ajinkya Rahane (0), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (8), Anukul Roy (9) and Rinku Singh (1) were disappointing.
For GT, Kagiso Rabada took three wickets and conceded just 29 runs. Mohammed Siraj got rid of two rivals and gave away just 23 runs. Ashok Sharma added two scalps to his bowling figures while Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan dismissed one batter each.
