Ashwin believes that Sanju Samson, the new face in CSK, can take over the captaincy in future.

He said that he is not a prophet but he feels that Samson can be seen taking charge of CSK at some point of time. However, he also made it clear that Samson should take the team forward not with anyone’s legacy but with his own identity.

He said that now this format is no longer just about individual achievements, but it is important to pay more attention to the impact and results of the team. Another setback for CSK is the injury to Ayush Mhatre, which has weakened the team’s batting.
