Now not one but two Indian teams will be seen playing in T20I. This will happen at the same time. BCCI has started complete planning for this. A big claim has been made in a report regarding this. According to the report, considering the abundance of talent, BCCI is now thinking of creating a pool of 30-35 players. His plan is to prepare two Indian teams in T20I. This intention of BCCI can be seen materializing after IPL 2026. If this happens, it will directly mean that more and more players will get a chance to represent the country.
Now the question is what is the motive of BCCI behind this scheme? Actually, India has to participate in many international events by the end of this year, which also includes the Asian Games and T20 series against West Indies. According to the report of NDTV, BCCI is thinking of focusing on the two-team policy keeping that in mind.
A BCCI official told NDTV that this year the Asian Games and the India-West Indies T20 series are going to be held at the same time. So we have to focus on fielding two teams. For that, it is important to prepare a pool of 30-35 cricketers from now on, who can be called for international matches.
The BCCI official said that a large pool of players will be kept for the Ireland tour. The same rule will apply for the Asian Games also. A big pool will be kept there also. Now the question is, which faces will be included in the pool of 30-35 players? So, no official seal has been given on the name of any player yet. But, considering the performance and current form in IPL 2026, discussion on some names has definitely started.
In batting, names of players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Priyansh Arya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar are ahead in the race. So on the bowling front, names of players like Ashok Sharma, Karthik Tyagi, Ravi Bishnoi are being mentioned. Dhruv Jurel's name can be included in wicket-keeping, while names like Shashank Singh, Anukul Roy can be seen in the list of all-rounders.Now when Team India will have two T20 teams, then obviously it will also have two captains. According to the report of NDTV, Shreyas Iyer can take command of a team.
