Tilak Varma’s maiden IPL hundred played a big role in the Mumbai Indians 99-run win over the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2026. After losing four consecutive matches, Mumbai needed a miracle, and it came in the form of Tilak, who took the score to 199 for 5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 200 runs, Gujarat were pushed back early by Jasprit Bumrah, who opened the bowling after a long time.

When Ashwani Kumar sent back Shubman Gill (14), it was all over for the Titans. Mitchell Santner took the wickets of Washington Sundar (26) and Glenn Phillips (6) in one over.

Rahul Tewatia (8), M Shahrukh Khan (17) and Rashid Khan (4) were undone by Ashwani, who took his wicket count to four.

AM Ghazanfar picked up Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj’s wickets as GT were dismissed for 100 in 15.5 overs.

The real push came from Tilak, who was on 19 runs in 22 balls at one stage. He went on to post an unbeaten 101 runs off 45 deliveries, with the help of 8 fours and 7 sixes.

Kagiso Rabada took three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna added one scalp each to their bowling figures.
