Royal Challengers Bengaluru were hit by an injury concern, with opener Phil Salt not playing in their IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2026. The RCB vs GT match is being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24. The defending champions have included Jacob Bethell in their team after the English batter showed his talent in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Titans.
“We are bowling first, as chasing over here is easy. Also, the wicket looks tacky, and it will help the bowlers in the first innings. We have one change in our team, with injured Phil Salt going out and Jacob Bethell taking his place. We have done well over here this year because of our planning and reading of the situation,” Patidar said.
GT captain Shubman Gill would have bowled first as well had he won the toss. “The wicket looks even, and hopefully we will be able to put runs on the board. It is important to score runs in the powerplay and then build on the momentum. Jason Holder is making his debut for us, and he has replaced Glenn Phillips. Manav Suthar is also playing,” he said.
