After a close defeat at home, Royal Challengers Bangalore are back to winning ways. Bengaluru had lost the match against Delhi Capitals in the very last over, but now the same team defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets after achieving the big target of 206 runs in 7 balls. Once again, the team's superstar batsman Virat Kohli played a big role in this victory, who scored a tremendous inning of 81 runs. But after the match, Kohli praised one player more than himself and that was Devdutt Padikkal.
There could hardly have been a better ending than this for RCB and its fans, who were playing their last league match of this season at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The team successfully chased 206 runs and its star was Virat Kohli, who again gave a stormy start and scored his third half-century of the season. He scored 81 runs in just 44 balls, which included 8 fours and 4 sixes. Kohli was given the Player of the Match award for this innings.
But the batsman who played a big role in taking the team to this victory along with Kohli was Padikkal. Padikkal, who came at number three, scored 55 runs in just 27 balls, which included 6 sixes and 2 fours. After the match, Kohli did not forget to praise his innings. Virat said, "This is the second time that Dev (Padikkal) started batting stormy from the first ball as soon as he came to the crease. The shot (six) he played on the first ball against Rabada was fantastic and shows his understanding of the game. Playing good cricket shots without hitting and having a strike rate of more than 200 from the first ball looks very low."
