Kolkata Knight Riders vice-captain Rinku Singh has been facing criticism since the beginning of IPL 2026. His bat was not doing much since last season and due to being made the vice-captain this season, he became more targeted. Kolkata's continuous defeats also put Rinku's performance under question. But now KKR's star batsman has shown his avatar which made him so famous and this style was seen against Lucknow Super Giants, where Rinku took control of the team by hitting 4 consecutive sixes.
In the match against Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata team was batting first. Like almost every previous match of this season, Kolkata's batting was once again a flop. mohsin khan Destroyed Kolkata's top and middle order badly and took 5 wickets. Kolkata had lost its 7 wickets for only 93 runs, while 15 overs had been completed. In such a situation, it seemed difficult for the team to reach a competitive score but Rinku did it.
Kolkata's vice-captain Rinku single-handedly turned the tables. Along with Sunil Narine, he did not allow any wicket to fall in the last 5 overs, while scoring 62 runs. Out of this, only 4 runs came from Naren's bat but the remaining runs were collected by Rinku. While counter-attacking, he completed his half-century in 42 balls. But his most destructive style was seen in the 20th over. In front of him was spinner Digvesh Rathi and Rinku stole the show by hitting 4 sixes in a row.
This time Rinku could not do the same feat which he had done against Yash Dayal 3 years ago. Then he hit 5 consecutive sixes in the 20th over. But with this innings, the KKR vice-captain took the team to a worthy score of 155 runs. Not only this, Rinku played an inning of 83 runs in just 51 balls, which included 5 sixes and 7 fours.
This is also Rinku's biggest score in IPL. Not only this, he scored a half-century for the second consecutive match. Earlier, he had played a match-winning inning of 53 runs unbeaten against Rajasthan Royals. This half-century was also special for Rinku because he had not been able to score even a single half-century in the last two seasons, but this time he has scored half-centuries in two consecutive matches.
