Sai Sudharsan Blitz Powers Gujarat Titans to 8-Wicket Win vs CSK

A solid knock from Sai Sudharsan set up the Gujarat Titans to post an 8-wicket victory in the IPL 2026 game against Chennai Super Kings at Chennai.

His 87* runs off 46 deliveries have set up the Titans to post a mammoth win in Sunday’s clash. By this win, the Gujarat Titans secured a 5th position in the IPL 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack.

Rabada bagged the wicket of Sanju Samson for 11 runs. He got dismissed on a shortened length outside off, where Jos Buttler caught the ball behind the wickets.

Urvil Patel, who came to bat at No.3, got dismissed for 4 runs. He got dismissed on a bouncer where the ball got edge and went off the top edge to mid off where Jason Holder took the catch.

Sarfaraz Khan who came as impact sub, got dismissed for golden duck on a bouncer from Siraj. He got dismissed after he attempted for a pull shot where Jos Buttler took a safe catch.

With Dewald Brevis and Ruturaj Gaikwad at crease, Chennai Super Kings scored only 28 runs in the powerplay.

With Dewald Brevis lost the wicket to Manav Suthar for 2 runs, Chennai Super Kings lost four wickets for 37 runs.

However, Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad forged a decent partnership to post a decent total against Gujarat Titans.

Arshad Khan bagged the wicket of Shivam Dube for 22. He got dismissed after the ball cleared his left leg as he missed the ball which hit the wickets.

After a small cameos from Karthik Sharma (15) and Jamie Overton (18), Ruturaj Gaikwad went on to smash his fifty as he scored 74* runs in the innings.

With their contributions, CSK posted 158 runs in their 20 over innings. Kagiso Rabada bagged three wickets while Arshad Khan completed his spell with two wickets.  Mohammed Siraj and Manav Suthar bagged one wicket each for Gujarat Titans.

Chasing the 159 run target, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings while Akeal Hosein opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a solid start scoring 55 runs in the powerplay for no loss. Noor Ahmad who came to bowl, bagged the wicket of Shubman Gill for 33 runs. Jos Buttler who came to bat at No. 3, joined Sai Sudharsan aiming to complete the chase.

Sai Sudharsan smashed fifty and continued to score 87 runs off 45 deliveries before being dismissed by Akeal Hosein. However, the game’s fate has almost been sealed as Jos Buttler scored 39* runs in the innings.

Gujarat Titans will play their next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 30 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
