LSG vs KKR, IPL 2026: In a surprising twist of events, the IPL 2026 match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium has resulted in a super over. According to IPL rules, a bowler cannot bowl again if he has sent down two waist-high full-tosses in a single innings, deeming it dangerous for the rest of the match. With Kartik Tyagi doing so, it is worth wondering how was the right-arm pacer allowed to continue despite bowling two waist-high full-tosses.
With Vaibhav Arora bowling more than a decent last-second over, he left Tyagi 17 to defend in the 20th. The bye off Mohammed Shami was followed by two waist-high full-tosses, the second of which was reviewed by the Knight Riders. But the decision to call it a waist-high full-toss was upheld and the free hit stood. Himmat Singh followed it up with a boundary and the right-arm speedster bounced back with a wicket. While the 25-year-old gave away only one run in the next two balls, Mohammed Shami tied the game by clobbering a six off the 120th delivery.
According to IPL rules, a bowler is warned after he delivers one waist high no-ball. But a second one results in suspension. However, Tyagi was allowed to bowl, given the second one wasn’t dangerous.

It is notably the second time in the 19th edition that the two teams are going against one another, with Mukul Choudhary delivering a stunning win for the Super Giants earlier in the tournament at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Nevertheless, the Knight Riders have fought back well to beat the Super Giants. Sunil Narine was thrust with the responsibility of bowling the super over and conceded only one run while dismissing Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram. The spin-bowling all-rounder needed only three balls to get the job done. Rinku Singh needed only one ball to finish off the game as he hit a boundary.
