ACP Sanjay Singh on Virat Kohli: During a match of IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Lungi Ngidi suffered a terrible injury while trying to take a catch on the field. After missing the catch, he fell heavily on his head and neck, due to which the match had to be stopped for some time. The player was taken off the field on a stretcher and needed to be immediately taken to the hospital. At the same time, the action of ACP Sanjay Singh of Delhi Traffic Police played a big role. In the heavy traffic of peak hour, he created an improvised green corridor and took the ambulance from Arun Jaitley Stadium to BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital in just 11 minutes. He has made a big revelation about Virat Kohli.
ACP Sanjay Singh has more than two decades of experience in Delhi Traffic Police. He himself is a former cricketer and his cricket career is closely related to the domestic cricket of Delhi. He has shared the field with legendary players like Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Recently, in an interview given to Rev Sports, ACP Sanjay Singh shared an interesting story of his with Virat Kohli.
ACP Sanjay Singh told that this is the year 2003-04, at that time there used to be league matches in Delhi Police and then the top-16 teams of different leagues used to play among themselves. Then Virat Kohli was a 16 year old boy. Their team could not qualify and ours did. So there was a rule in the tournament that two players from the teams that did not qualify could be included in the team, then Virat Kohli played for our team. Due to which he got a chance to share the field with Virat.
ACP Sanjay Singh also told that there was a lot of rain on the day of the match in the tournament and the Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium was filled with water. At that time all our players were eating tea and pakodas and Virat Kohli kept practicing indoor for hours, because of this dedication he has reached here today.
