15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is showing no signs of slowing down in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) as he continues to break new ground, going past some of the biggest names the format has seen.
In the Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan clash, Sooryavanshi once again got off to a flying start, scoring at a rapid pace and giving his side early momentum in the chase. He eventually fell for 43 off just 16 deliveries, striking at over 268, but not before making a strong impact at the top.
With that knock, Sooryavanshi has now raced to 400 runs in the season quicker than anyone in IPL history, surpassing the likes of Andre Russell and Glenn Maxwell to set a new benchmark.
Fastest to 400 runs in an IPL season (by balls):
The young batsman has now moved to the top of the Orange Cap standings, underlining his consistency and impact this season.
So far in nine matches, Sooryavanshi has scored 400 runs at an average of 44.44. More impressive is his strike rate, which remains above 238, along with a remarkable tally of more sixes than fours.
Sooryavanshi, who made his debut at just 14 for Rajasthan Royals last year, has been making headlines consistently. From age-group cricket to the Under-19 World Cup and now the IPL, he has continued to deliver on the big stage.
Across 16 innings, he has already piled up 652 runs at a staggering strike rate touching 424, numbers that seem almost unreal in modern-day cricket.
