PBKS vs RR, IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals have consigned the Punjab Kings to their first loss of IPL 2026 as they hunted down 223 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on Tuesday. Donovan Ferreira’s contribution was quite crucial as he blasted an unbeaten 52 off only 26 deliveries to help the Royals overhaul a tall score against a strong Punjab Kings’ bowling unit. While the Royals have surged one spot up, the Punjab Kings have retained their place at the summit of the points table.

With Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag winning the toss, he inserted the hosts into bat. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh got the Royals off to another rollicking start before the former fell for 29 off only 11 balls. Cooper Connolly also perished after striking a 14-ball 30. Prabhsimran smashed another fifty but consumed 44 deliveries for his 59 runs but it was the death-overs impetus from Marcus Stoinis that helped the two-time finalists runners-up finish strongly. The veteran Aussie all-rounder carted Brijesh Sharma for 24 runs in the final over to stay unbeaten on 62 off 22 balls.
In a chase of 223, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal also responded in style, stitching 51-run opening stand in 3.2 overs. While Dhruv Jurel struggled, Parag (29), Ferreria (52*) and Shubham Dubey (31*) did just enough to consign the Punjab Kings to their first defeat of the season and in Mullanpur this year.
