Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach Hemang Badani on Tuesday described the injury to South African pacer Lungi Ngidi as ‘scary’, stating the entire camp was worried for his well-being and is relieved he has recovered and returned to action.

Ngidi missed the last two games after he suffered a neck injury while attempting a catch during DC’s match against Punjab Kings on April 25.

Ngidi made his comeback against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday, and took the important wicket of CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad off his very first over.

“I got really worried and nervous as he (Ngidi) was not responding to treatment from the medics on the ground when it happened. Thankfully, he recovered well and is back to playing now, big relief for me and the entire camp,” remarked Badani in an interaction with the commentators during the game.
