India vs Afghanistan: Team India is yet to be announced for the only test against Afghanistan. But, a big update has come out regarding which players can get a chance in it. After the end of IPL 2026, the Afghanistan team is going to tour India for a Test and 3 ODI series. The only test between India and Afghanistan is to be played at Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10.

Main team will play against Afghanistan!

Even though the Indian team for the Test against Afghanistan has not been announced yet, but according to the report of Times of India, only the regular members of the Indian Test team can be seen playing in it. The Test against Afghanistan is not in the WTC cycle, yet only the main batsmen of the Indian Test team can be seen playing in it.

Medical team gave green signal regarding workload

In last month's TOI report, there was news that India's senior players may be rested from the Test against Afghanistan considering their workload. But, now after getting the green signal from the medical team regarding the workload of the Indian batsmen, BCCI seems to be planning to field a full strength team against Afghanistan.

Gill, Rahul, Yashasvi, Pant… will play against Afghanistan?

According to the report, fielding a full strength Indian team in the Test against Afghanistan means that its command will be in the hands of Shubman Gill. The responsibility of opening will be on the shoulders of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Whereas, Rishabh Pant can be seen giving life to the middle order.

Sai Sudarshan can be dropped

On one hand, there are chances of these players playing against Afghanistan, on the other hand, there is also a report of Sai Sudarshan being removed from number 3. There are reports that BCCI is in a mood to try Devdutt Padikkal in place of Sudarshan, who has scored good runs in first class cricket.

Bumrah can be given rest

There may not be news of any change in the Indian batting order against Afghanistan, but on the bowling front, there may be a change in the pace attack. According to the report, Bumrah may be rested from the test against Afghanistan. According to TOI report, BCCI will take the final decision on the playing of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna only after examining their workload in IPL. There is news that Aaqib Nabi, who attracted attention with his strong performance in Ranji Trophy, may get a chance against Afghanistan.
