Indian Premier League In (IPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 3 wickets in another thrilling match. The match was played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, Dharamshala, where DC achieved the target of 211 runs with a score of 216/7 in 19 overs.
DC captain Akshar Patel looked very happy after this victory. Praising the team’s performance, he said that the players showed excellent composure and confidence under pressure. Akshar said that despite giving away runs in the initial overs, the team made a brilliant comeback and won the match in its favour.
Akshar Patel described his innings of 56 runs in 33 balls and his important partnership of 64 runs with David Miller as the turning point of the victory. He also praised the bowling of Mukesh Kumar and Madhav Tiwari, who gave the team a comeback in the middle overs.
The captain also praised the young players. He said that the young players in the team are not only playing with confidence but will prove to be a big strength for Delhi Capitals in the future. Akshar especially praised Sahil Parakh’s courage and sportsmanship.
Madhav Tiwari, who performed brilliantly in the match, was chosen player of the match. He contributed with both batting and bowling and attributed this to the confidence of the team management. Madhav humorously described himself as “100 per cent batsman and 100 per cent bowler”.
PBKS team reached the score of 210/5, in which captain Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 59 runs. But due to poor fielding and expensive overs, the team had to face its fourth consecutive defeat.
Akshar Patel finally said that if the team continues to play like this, then Delhi Capitals has the ability to defeat any team in the coming matches.
