Macneil Noronha Joins CSK Squad As Replacement For Injured Ramakrishna Ghosh

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have named all-rounder Macneil Noronha as a replacement for injured Ramakrishna Ghosh for the remainder of the IPL 2026.

Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a foot fracture during his IPL debut against the Mumbai Indians on May 02.

He will be joining the side for a base price of INR 30 lakhs. His inclusion comes after emerging as the highest run getter in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy in the 2024-25 season and he also received a prestigious MA Chidambaram Trophy at the Naman Awards.

He played a crucial part scoring 253 runs from 13 games at a strike rate of 148.82. He also picked 10 wickets at an economy of 7.44.

Chennai Super Kings have been struggling with a long list of injuries which includes, Ayush Mhatre, Nathan Ellis, Khaleel Ahmed and MS Dhoni have not played a single game in this season so far.

Macneil Noronha’s inclusion will strengthen the side’s campaign who are fighting for their playoff chances.

Chennai Super Kings had a mixed up campaign in the ongoing season. Despite a poor start, they made a brilliant comeback putting up 6 wins in 11 games and currently secured fifth position in the IPL 2026 points table.

Chennai Super Kings will play their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on a reverse fixture on May 15 at Bharat Ratna Shir Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
