Jacob Duffy Leads RCB’s Bowling Charge as GT Crumble in Chase

A brilliant spell from Jacob Duffy has triggered the Gujarat Titans’ batting collapse in the 255-run chase against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 26 at Dharamsala.

He picked up three wickets in four overs, leaking 39 runs, causing a riot in Tuesday’s clash.

After being invited to bat first, Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack.

Despite a solid start from Iyer, he couldn’t convert the start as Kagiso Rabada bagged the wicket of the opener for 19 runs.

He got dismissed on the back of a lengthy delivery where the batter swings the bat across the line, but got top-edged as the ball flew to mid off, and Shubman Gill picked a catch.

Devdutt Padikkal, who came to bat at No. 3, joined Virat Kohli as the side scored 76 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a 72-run partnership before Jason Holder picked the wicket of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the same over.

Viat Kohli got dismissed on a short of length delivery and got bowled out after an inside edge. He scored 45 runs off 25 deliveries, which included 5 fours and 1 six.

Meanwhile, Padikkal got dismissed on a catch by Jos Buttler behind the wickets for 30 runs. With their dismissals, RCB lost three wickets for 94 runs.

Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya came to bat at No. 4 and 5 as the duo aimed to forge a partnership and post a massive total against the Titans.

The duo forged a 95-run partnership, reviving the side before Kagiso Rabada dismissed Krunal Pandya for 43 runs. He got dismissed on a catch by Sai Sudharsan at deep mid-wicket.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Patidar smashed fifty and accelerated their innings. Tim David, who came to bat at No.6, got bowled out by Prasidh Krishna on a brilliant yorker.

With Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar at the crease, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 254 runs in their innings scoring one of the highest team score in IPL history.

Chasing the massive target Shubman gill and Sai Sudharsan opened the innings while Jacob Duffy opened the bowling attack.

Jacob Duffy bagged the first wicket for RCB dismissing Sai Sudharsan for 14 runs. On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar attacked from other side dismissing Shubman Gill for 2 runs.

With Josh Hazlewood picking the wicket of Jos Buttler for 29 runs, Rasikh Salam bagged the wicket of Nishant Sindhu for 29 runs.

Gujarat Titans were pushed to tough spot as they lost their fifth wicket in the powerplay. Rasikh Salam bagged two wickets in a single over dismissing Nishant Sindhu and Jason Holder.

With Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia at crease, Gujarat Titans scored 51 runs in the powerplay. However, Titans could not stand up against RCB’s lethal bowling attack.

Jacob Duffy bagged his second wicket Sundar for 8 runs and eventuall bagged his third wicket dismissing Rashid Khan for  8 runs

With Krunal Pandya bagging the wicket of Kagiso Rabada, Gujarat Titans lost 8 wickets for 88 runs. Only Rahul Tewatia holded Gujarat Titans innings as the side crossed 100 run mark.
