A batting carnage from Rajat Patidar has set up Royal Challengers Bengaluru to post 254 runs against the Gujarat Titans on May 26 at Dharamsala.

His unbeaten 93* runs off 33 deliveries have powered RCB to post one of their highest team score in IPL history.

After being invited to bat first, Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack.

Despite a solid start from Iyer, he couldn’t convert the start as Kagiso Rabada bagged the wicket of the opener for 19 runs.

He got dismissed on the back of a lengthy delivery where the batter swings the bat across the line, but got top-edged as the ball flew to mid off, and Shubman Gill picked a catch.

Devdutt Padikkal, who came to bat at No. 3, joined Virat Kohli as the side scored 76 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a 72-run partnership before Jason Holder picked the wicket of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the same over.

Viat Kohli got dismissed on a short of length delivery and got bowled out after an inside edge. He scored 45 runs off 25 deliveries, which included 5 fours and 1 six.

Meanwhile, Padikkal got dismissed on a catch by Jos Buttler behind the wickets for 30 runs. With their dismissals, RCB lost three wickets for 94 runs.

Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya came to bat at No. 4 and 5 as the duo aimed to forge a partnership and post a massive total against the Titans.

The duo forged a 95-run partnership, reviving the side before Kagiso Rabada dismissed Krunal Pandya for 43 runs. He got dismissed on a catch by Sai Sudharsan at deep mid-wicket.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Patidar smashed fifty and accelerated their innings. Tim David, who came to bat at No.6, got bowled out by Prasidh Krishna on a brilliant yorker.

With Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar at the crease, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 254 runs in their innings.
