A blistering knock from Vaibhav Suryavanshi and a three-wicket haul from Jofra Archer have set up the Rajasthan Royals to post a 47-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Mullanpur.

By this win, they advance to the qualifier 02, where they face the Gujarat Titans in Friday’s clash.

After being invited to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings while Pat Cummins opened the bowling attack.

The 15-year old troubled SRH bowlers struggled to contain runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi brought up a 16-ball fifty and also made a record-breaking history on smashing the Most sixes in a single IPL season.

The Previous record was held by Chris Gayle, who smashed 59 sixes in the 2012 season. Despite using four bowling options, SRH couldn’t break the partnership as the Rajasthan Royals scored 80 runs in the power play.

Suryavanshi did not stop as he went on to score 97 runs off 28 deliveries. However, Praful Hinge bagged the crucial wicket of the 15-year-old, breaking the 125-run partnership for the first wicket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was on the verge of completing the fastest century in IPL history; however, he caught out on a short and wide delivery where he hit the upper cut over third man, as Smaran Ravichandran picked the catch. He seemed to be a little disappointed and was not ready to leave the field yet.

Shivang Kumar bagged the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 29 runs. Dhruv Jurel, who came to bat at No.3, went on to score 50 runs off 21 deliveries before being dismissed by Praful Hinge.

Praful Hinge bagged his third wicket, dismissing Riyan Parag for 26 runs. The middle order did not make much of an impact as they got dismissed cheaply.

By the end of 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals went on to score 243/8, posting one of their highest team scores in IPL history.

Praful Hinge bagged three wickets while Eshan Malinga, Shivang Kumar and Nitish Kumar Reddy bagged one wicket each.

Chasing the massive total, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.

Archer ripped up the entire top order within the power play. He bagged the wicket of Abhishek Sharma for a duck on a short ball, where the ball hit his glove, and Dhruv Jurel bagged the catch behind the wickets.

Ishan Kishan, who came to bat at No.3, joined Travis Head to forge a 51-run partnership. Jofra Archer bagged his second wicket, dismissing Ishan Kishan for 33 runs. He got dismissed on a back-of-length delivery where the batter tried to flat bat it to off-side, and Donovan Ferreira took an easy catch at covers.

With the dismissal of Smaran Ravichandran for 1 run by Nandre Burger, Archer bagged his third wicket, dismissing Travis Head for 17 runs. He got bowled out on a lengthy delivery as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost four wickets for 57 runs.

With Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy at the crease, SRH scored 71 runs in the power play. Yash Punja bagged a crucial wicket of Heinrich Klaasen for 18 runs as SRH lost 5 wickets for 81 runs as Rajasthan Royals steadily march towards victory.

However, a solid partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora delayed the inevitable. The duo forged a 56-run partnership before the dismissal of Nitish Reddy for 28 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja bagged the wicket of Nitish Reddy after the batter slogged the ball towards deep mid-wicket, where Shanaka took a safe catch in deep.

Sushant Mishra bagged the wicket of Pat Cummins for 1 run, while Jadeja bagged his second wicket by dismissing Salil Arora for 25 runs as SRH lost 8 wickets for 163 runs.

Nandre Burger bagged his second wicket dimsissing Eshan Malinga for 5 runs. Sushant Mishra bagged his second wicket, dismissing Shivang Kumar for 27 runs, as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the game by 47 runs.

Rajasthan Royals will play in the qualifier 02 against the Gujarat Titans on May 29 at Mullanpur.
