Former India batter Ambati Rayudu made a huge statement at the end of the SRH vs RR match on Wednesday night. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s knock of 97 helped his side win the game by 47 runs. Rayudu, after the game, suggested that Yashasvi Jaiswal has to quit Rajasthan Royals because the Indian star is getting overshadowed by Sooryavanshi.
Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo’s Timeout show, Ex-Indian batter said, “Jaiswal has to change his game because he is getting overshadowed by the youngster. He (Jaiswal) is a star as well, and if he goes to some other side, then he can win games on his own and needs the space and platform.”
Former IPL winner said that the Mumbai Indians could be the perfect fit for the RR opener. For the record, the 24-year-old plays for Mumbai in the Indian domestic circuit and has been one of their best run-getters in recent times. His exploits soon earned him a spot in the Indian Test side, where he has managed to do wonders.
Young batting sensation made his IPL debut in 2020 and played just three games, scoring 34 runs. The next two seasons, the southpaw played ten games each, scoring a total of 507 runs with three fifties.
It was in 2023; the young batter showed the world his real talents as he scored 625 runs from 14 games with five fifties and one century. In fact, both of his IPL tons have come against the Men in Blue and Gold so far.
Till now, the youngster has played 82 matches in the league, scoring 2592 runs with an average of 34 and a strike-rate of 152. Apart from his two centuries, the batter has also scored 18 fifties in the league.
On Wednesday, with Sooryavanshi going great guns, the senior batter took a step back and dropped anchor. Shivang Kumar eventually dismissed the Indian Test star for a run-a-ball 29 with four boundaries when he was caught by Abhishek Sharma while going for a big hit.
